JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 5-year-old girl from St. Johns County who was at the center of a Florida Missing Child Alert and her 87-year-old great-grandmother were found Thursday evening, according to authorities. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday night that the two were located and were with authorities near Savannah, Georgia. The Sheriff’s Office said the house was not disturbed and there was no sign of foul play. The Sheriff’s Office said the two were then spotted Thursday midafternoon in the area of Savannah before they were located. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, they have family in Swainsboro, which is off Interstate 16.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office first announced about 7:30 a.m. Saturday that it was looking for a 2-year-old girl, who may have been with a 31-year-old man. Late Friday evening, according to the Sheriff’s Office, police were originally called to an unrelated investigation on the Southside, where they discovered the girl was missing. The FDLE said after 2:15 p.m. Saturday that the child was safe, and the Missing Child Alert was canceled. The Florida Missing Child Alert for 2-year-old My'ionnah Freeman out of Jacksonville has been resolved.
