Rising housing costs, combined with persistent inflation for basic necessities such as gas and food, have left more Americans newly homeless and millions more fearing they’ll soon lose their homes.

The City of Jacksonville says they had no option but to break-up a protest over affordable housing in front of City Hall.

According to real estate brokerage firm Redfin, the Jacksonville metro area had the ninth fastest-rising rent in the country, ahead of Florida cities like Orlando and Tampa.

The I-TEAM spoke with a local landlord who says they are not price gouging, but instead, are being challenged with inflation as well.
