Tim Tebow is expanding his reach as a professional sports franchise owner, with his latest venture bringing professional hockey to Lake Tahoe.

Former Nease High School and University of Florida star Tim Tebow was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame on Monday.

When the Jaguars first announced they were signing Tim Tebow, my biggest concern was that he wouldn’t be good enough to make the team, but Urban Meyer would keep him on the roster because of his fondness for Tebow the person.

A return to football was a ridiculously long shot, one that Tim Tebow certainly didn’t have to attempt, and one that ended on Tuesday morning when the Jaguars waived the iconic former Florida Gators and Nease High School quarterback.

Tim Tebow’s will make the veteran’s minimum and his contract with the Jaguars doesn’t include any guaranteed money.

One day back in the NFL and Tim Tebow has the best-selling jersey in the NFL.

“He’s not just someone that brings a system,” Tebow said. He’s not a system guy. And so he’s really good evaluator,” Tebow said. But he went against the grain went to a place that’s going to be harder, he’s going to have to compete, he’s going to have to grow, he’s going to have to adapt. I’m planning on starting and we start on time, so I’m excited,” Tebow said.

Those passing totals rank second in college football, trailing only Florida’s Kyle Trask (4,283 yards, 43 TDs), a fellow Heisman finalist. Another Alabama alum, running back Derrick Henry, is the only other area player to earn a Heisman finalist spot.

"Tebowing" is now the biggest Internet trend. As described on the Tumblr blog, Tebowing "is to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different." Photos on the site show people Tebowing in bookstores, in airports, in the operating room, in the U.S. Capitol and while golfing. There are even photos of toddlers Tebowing and one mimicking the Beatle's "Abbey Road" album cover. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Jared Kleinstein, the founder of the blog, said he first convinced his friends to pose like Tebow after watching the former Gators QB lead a fourth-quarter comeback against the Miami Dolphins.
