JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A massive law enforcement response to a police motorcycle crash shut down the flow of traffic on Philips Highway near J. Butler Boulevard Thursday morning.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the officer was attempting to stop a traffic violator, but lost control of his motorcycle while attempting to accelerate.
The officer’s injuries are minor and no other vehicles were involved in a crash, according to JSO.
Northbound lanes of Philips Highway were closed at Bowdendale Avenue for about an hour.
