Rider killed in crash that sent motorcycle flipping over I-10 guardrail, FHP says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 62-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday in a crash on I-10 at Hammond Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported about 11 a.m.

According to the FHP report, the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was headed east on I-10 and for unknown reasons traveled off the road into the center grass median, flipping the motorcycle.

The rider, who is from Goldsboro, North Carolina, was ejected and died at the scene.

The motorcycle continued flipping and traveled over the guardrail, landing in the inside lane on the opposite side of I-10.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
