JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died and a woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a crash on Chaffee Road Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. north of Falkland Road, near the Jax Public Library West Branch.

According to FHP, a 61-year-old woman driving a sedan was approaching an SUV north on Chaffee Road.
Officials said the SUV was involved in a prior crash and was blocking the north lane of Chaffee Road.
The driver of the SUV, a 23-year-old man from Jacksonville, was outside his car when the sedan struck him.
The 23-year-old man died on the scene, according to the FHP report.
The sedan driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
