JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman in her 30s who was walking on Soutel Drive around 8:40 p.m. Monday night was hit by multiple vehicles and died, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The woman was hit near Clyde Drive by a car headed south on Soutel Drive, and the impact threw her into the northbound lane.

Police said an SUV in the inside lane also hit the woman, and that impact threw the woman into the outside lane.
A white possibly four-door vehicle then ran over the woman in the outside lane and the driver sped away from the scene.
The drivers of the car and the SUV both stopped at the scene and are cooperating with traffic homicide detectives.
Police said there are no indicators of impairment.
The driver of the white vehicle fled the scene northbound.

This is the 43rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year, and the 12th involving a pedestrian.
