JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his late 40s died Tuesday night after the ATV he was riding along the grass shoulder of Commonwealth Avenue hit a tree, police said.
Police said the man was headed east on the south side of Commonwealth Avenue on the grass shoulder just before 8 p.m. when he drove down into a small culvert and lost control.

The ATV crashed into a tree.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
This is the 45th traffic fatality in Duval County this year, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
