33-year-old motorcyclist dies after hitting SUV on I-295 near Morse Avenue: FHP

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night when he changed lanes on his motorcycle and ran into the back of an SUV on I-295 northbound near Morse Avenue in Jacksonville.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was speeding shortly before 10:30 p.m. when he changed lanes and hit the SUV. He died at the scene.

The motorcyclist, who was from Jacksonville, was wearing a helmet, troopers said.

The 55-year-old driver of the SUV, who is from Middleburg, was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt, FHP said.
