JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old Jacksonville man was killed Thursday night when his car spun out during a pileup on I-95 north in Flagler County and was hit head-on, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a car driven by a 24-year-old man from Jacksonville was headed north on I-95 around 10:15 p.m. Thursday when it swerved off the highway and then overcorrected back onto the road.

The right front of the car hit the back left of the 19-year-old’s car, sending it into a third car, driven by a 39-year-old man from St. Augustine, who had an 11-year-old girl with him.
FHP said after sideswiping the 39-year-old’s car, the 19-year-old’s car spun out and ended up facing south in the northbound lanes, where it was hit head on by a pick-up truck.
The 19-year-old, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said. All others involved were wearing seat belts, the report said.
Both the 60-year-old Hialeah man driving the pickup truck that hit the 19-year-old head on and the 24-year-old who started the chain-reaction pileup suffered minor injuries.
A 57-year-old Sunny Isles Beach man driving another pick-up truck involved in the pileup wasn’t injured and his truck sustained minor damage.
The 39-year-old whose car was sideswiped and his 11-year-old passenger were not hurt, troopers said.
