Deadly crash is 3rd involving motorcycle or minibike in Jacksonville this week
Deadly motorcycle crash at Soutel Drive and New Kings Road (WJXT)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist died Thursday morning in a crash at Soutel Drive and New Kings Road in Northwest Jacksonville, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Just before 6 a.m. and man in his late 40s riding southbound on New Kings Road hit the rear of a car hauler that was turning left from northbound New Kings Road onto westbound Soutel Drive.
The rider died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
JSO said the driver of the car hauler semi didn’t even realize the truck had been hit until officers tracked them down.
It was the 17th traffic fatality in Duval County this year, and the fifth involving a motorcycle.
