Silver announces non-stop flights between Jax and Bahamas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Silver Airways announced Thursday it will provide non-stop flights between Jacksonville and Nassau, Bahamas beginning this spring.

In addition to the new Jacksonville to Nassau service, Silver Airways also recently announced it's starting non-stop service to Nassau from Tampa, Fort Myers and West Palm Beach starting Memorial Day weekend.

To celebrate the new routes to Nassau, Silver Airways is offering the following introductory fares available at silverairways.com through 11:59 p.m. EST on March 31, 2016 for travel between June 1, 2016 and June 29, 2016:

  • $69 (one way, including taxes and fees) between Palm Beach (PBI) and Nassau (NAS)
  • $79 (one way, including taxes and fees) between Fort Myers (RSW) and Nassau (NAS)
  • $99 (one way, including taxes and fees) between Tampa (TPA) and Nassau (NAS)
  • $99 (one way, including taxes and fees) between Jacksonville (JAX) and Nassau (NAS)

Silver Airways' Jacksonville to Nassau service effective May 28, 2016:

  • Departs JAX on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:41 p.m. and arrives in NAS at 4:44 p.m.
  • Departs NAS on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:50 a.m. and arrives in JAX at 2:11 p.m. 

"Silver's announcement of their growth in Jacksonville is very exciting," Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Steve Grossman said. "Northeast Floridians now have a nonstop option to one of the most popular destinations in the Bahamas." 

All of Silver's flights are operated with its fleet of 22 Saab 340B Plus turbo-prop aircraft that seat 34 passengers.
