Death, injury from ATVs is up among children
The Academy of Pediatrics is now recommending children under 16 should not be allowed to operate an ATV saying they do not have the skills required to drive one safely. It comes as we are seeing more children getting hurt or even dying in crashes involving ATVs and also golf carts. Dr. Brian Yorkgitis, the pediatric trauma medical director at UF Health, is here to discuss the risks involved with ATVs and children.
