Jacksonville intends to pay tribute to ‘Sapelo Seven’ with new monument

 On New Year’s Eve, a community gathering at the historic Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church honored the legacy of former slaves while commemorating the lives of the seven people who were killed in October after a gangway collapsed in southern Georgia.
