JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sunday's record rain dropped 3 to 5 inches of rain over much of the Clay county and records were set at many reporting locations including Jacksonville 2.36" and Gainesville.
The river levels jumped rapidly rising 13 feet in just 12 hours and water is near 16 feet Monday morning. The flood stage is 16 feet at which the Lazy Acres Road begins to flood west of Middleburg. Lowlands flood and boat docks are affected.

Hydrology forecasts don't predict much more of a rise above 16.3 feet and levels should drop to below action stage by Wednesday.
Despite tropical Storm Emily crossing central Florida Monday, the weather Authority predicts drier conditions without much rain through Wednesday. The system will move out into the Atlantic and dry air settles over Northeast Florida for the week. How much rain may returns Thursday or Friday is still unclear at this point.
