It won’t rain all day but return showers along with a few stronger storms are possible in the afternoon. The steady rain is breaking up in Jacksonville as punchy afternoon storms roll-off to our south.
We will still have abundant humidity to provide heavy rain accumulations around 0.75 inches to over an inch. Breezy southerly flow should increase to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
The cold front will push off the east coast by early evening which would typically bring an end to the rain. But in this situation, another chunk of energy will pass over us overnight keeping light spotty showers in the forecast into Friday morning.
Finally, we clear out Friday night with dry and cooler Autumn conditions through the weekend.
