The same severe weather system that sent a tornado ripping across Nassau county here in Florida, an outbreak of tornadoes whipped across the southeast. But just 180 miles from Jacksonville a tornado was captured in memorizing spectacle.

The twister in Leslie, Georgia was captured by storm Chaser Vince Waelti who got a uniquely clear view of a tornado that wasn’t obscured by rain.
The up-close camera position shows the gray vortex change to brown as the tornado spins across a dirt road. Trees also get blasted by the high winds surrounding the tornado seconds before any impact from the condensation funnel.
