The day starts out with clouds mainly east of the St. Johns River with sunnier skies over inland areas. Other than light showers along coastal Georgia, dry air returns on the backside of a powerful gale storm tracking into the Carolinas.
Breezy NW winds are stepped down a notch compared to yesterday at 15-20 mph and this flow keeps highs to the low to mid 70s. High Rip/Surf advisory in effect.
Jackets? Record cold is possible tonight with 60s after sunset followed by low 50s Sunday morning with some upper 40s inland north FL and GA. Record low for JAX is 52 and we might nail it.
Then the warmth returns Sunday reaching mid 80s under dry sunshine and hotter upper 80s on Memorial Day.
Afternoon storms are on hold until about Wednesday next week with normal highs in the mid to upper 80s.
