Despite all the sunshine, it is a cold day. Last night’s cold front kicked in the dry air today with a sharp temperature drop.
Sunrise windchills will be in the upper 30s with temps in the 40s through mid-morning highs only reaching the upper 50s.
This is the start of a chilly week where highs stay in the 60s each day and the easterly winds blow strong off the ocean.
Tonight temperatures dip to the low/mid 40s across the metro areas in northeast Florida but far inland over the Suwannee Valley Region could see readings just above freezing into Tuesday morning. Light inland winds could bring a brief freeze over inland GA, the Suwannee Valley, and around the Westside I-10 corridor.
A Frost Advisory has been issued for these locations from 2 am until 8 am Tuesday.
An extended period of strong onshore winds and building seas is expected midweek into the upcoming weekend. Rain is expected to increase this weekend with the exact timing dependent on the evolution of a Gulf low pressure system.
