Abundant sunshine won’t warm us up, overnight Freeze Watch in effect

Windchill will be a factor

. (.)

It’s the last Saturday of 2023 and it’s a cold one! A Freeze Watch has been issued for most of our area through Sunday at 8:00 a.m. meaning inland areas could wake up to frozen windshields and frosty roofs.

Today: Below normal temperatures will continue throughout the day, only reaching middle to upper 50s. Gusty winds in the 25-30 mph range. Clear skies with plenty of sun and steady, gusty at times, winds will keep the wind chill in the 40s.

Tonight: Freeze Watch through 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning, clear and cold. Lows in the 30s. Windchill temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Jags Game: Sunny, breezy and a little warmer with kick-off temperatures around 60.

Hazards: Minor flooding continues along the St. Marys and Santa Fe rivers. Freeze/Frost for inland areas.

Looking ahead: A warmer start to the New Year on Monday with highs near 70s. Another front will push through late Monday and Tuesday keeping the first week of 2024 a little cooler with scattered showers.
