Our first round of showers this morning will fade away briefly this afternoon with just isolated spots of rain before additional heavier showers move in this evening ahead of a cold front.
The wettest time periods will be from 6-9 pm with rain and a few embedded thunderstorms. Stronger storms could track north of Jacksonville through south and central Georgia.
It turns dry overnight and this weekend.
Saturday’s temps take a dip lower with highs only in the upper 50s. Overnight low temperatures reach the lower 30s Sunday morning with a potential for freezing and frost conditions.
Rain heavier than today returns on MLK Day and Tuesday with the coldest air of the season potentially arriving Wednesday with back-to-back freezes next week.
