Remnants of Tuesday’s rain could be Wednesday’s icicles.

Drier air is moving in and the temperatures are tumbling. Near record lows with Hard Freeze and Freeze Warnings in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday. It will be sunny and cold Wednesday. Changes on Friday will keep the cold in place this weekend.

Wednesday: Hard Freeze and Freeze Warning 3 a.m. - 9 a.m. Lows in the 20s across Southeast Georgia, 20 to near freezing for Northeast Florida, upper 20s to mid 30s along our beaches. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Wind NW 5-10 mph. A Freeze and Hard Freeze Watch will become a Warning for early Thursday.

Protect those Ps!

Pipes/Pools: Cover, Wrap, Protect, Drip for Pipes. If you are not using it, turn it off. If your pump is on a schedule, let it run through the night.

Pets, Plants: Pets need warm, wind-sheltered bedding. Plants need a blanket too.

People: Check in with neighbors, lend a hand if you can.

Well below seasonal temperatures will continue through most of the week with reinforcing cold air this weekend.
