Slow moving systems: first rain, then a powerful Nor’easter

Several systems pile up over north Florida during the next 2 days.

Low pressure rain makers, a cold front and a developing Nor’easter Gale will all impact us in 48 hours as these weather systems pile up from a slow moving cut-off low.

This will result in rain, tropical storms gusts, and some temps in the 30s over the next couple days.

Today will offer very few dry hours. Steady rain sets in by mid to late morning and all afternoon. Some drying develops after sunset but lingering rain will persist north of Jacksonville into Georgia tonight.

Cloudy skies hold temps in the 60s today with a fresh east wind at 15-20 with gusts to 30 in a few afternoon thunderstorms. The heaviest rain in Jacksonville will be from 2-4 p.m.

Tomorrow: Fewer showers with rain chances dropping to 30% as a low-pressure gale forms in the Atlantic. It will gradually draw away the rain on Monday with breezy and partly cloudy conditions taking over.

By Monday evening we will be in a full dry Nor’easter with winds gusting to 30 mph at the coast and up to 40 mph on Tuesday under mostly sunny skies.

Colder weather arrives Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 50s to 60 and mornings in the upper 30s.

At least the warmer weather arrives byu the end of the week with even some mid 70s next weekend!
