Rain, rain go away: It won’t today, but sunny skies return Monday

. (.)

Today we are monitoring some light to moderate rainfall across the viewing area.

Light to moderate rain will remain for the rest of the day, and for some further south into the overnight hours. A cold front brings cooler and drier air before a warm-up at the end of the week. Rain will impact Southeast Georgia to Northeast Florida, including inland counties.

As you make plans this morning, know that temperatures began in the upper 40s and low 50s. We will only make it to a high of 55 degrees Sunday, with cloudy skies, rain, and winds from the north at 13 to 16 miles per hour. Gusts will make for a breezy day ranging from 15 to 20 miles per hour.

Looking ahead: You and your family can enjoy your holiday on Monday without any rain.

Much drier air moves in behind the cold front and sunshine returns with slightly below average temperatures.

Rain could return for the weekend starting on Saturday.
