The clouds are here, rain moves in overnight

Showers and soakers on the way

. (.)

From rays of sun to rounds of rain. Friday will kick off a wet start to the weekend. Widespread rain will start before sunrise near and along I-75 and spread east through the morning. Based on current models and timing it will be a wet ride to work and school.

From the morning ride through the early afternoon is where things get interesting. Inland areas will get a break from the widespread rain while counties near and along I-95 to the beaches continue with downpours through late afternoon. This will be followed by scattered showers with another round of rain and storms on Saturday. Partly cloudy, cooler and breezy Sunday.

Friday: Plan for rounds of rain with periods of locally heavy rain from sunrise through early evening. Rainfall rates will vary from 0.25 to 1.50 inches with isolated areas receiving more than two inches.

Showers with storms continue on Saturday. The first round will come through early Saturday morning. There will be a break in the widespread activity through around 1 p.m. The next round will come through from around 2 p.m. through 8 p.m.

Partly cloudy skies on Sunday with less than seasonal temperatures and breezy conditions.

Hazards: Thunderstorms, some strong. Damaging wind, small hail and periods of heavy rain.
