Annual Blessing of the Fleet

. (.)

A great season of boating is right around the corner. This is a great time to review the Coast Guard Small Vessel Checklist to ensure all of your safety items are on board and up to date. Here is the link: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/CVC-FM-021%281%29_1.pdf

If you are looking for extra protection while on the water, the Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron’s Blessing of the Fleet will be on Sunday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m.

Staging will begin at Metropolitan Park and the Blessing will be at the Lone Sailor Statue on the south bank of the St. Johns River.

Arrive downtown at or before 1:30 p.m. and tune to VHF channels 16 and 72.

The sun will be shining, but it will be windy. Sunday’s wind forecast currently brings an increasing northerly flow at 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Have a safe and happy navigational season.
