The heat is on and the rain chances too

Late Saturday, Sunday rain possible

TONIGHT: Saturday evening rain chances will be possible for Southeast Georgia, while those chances expand to Northeast Florida on Sunday.

Saturday afternoon has been hot, peaking at 90 degrees and slowly dropping through the 80s. Saturday evening temperatures will drop into the low 70s before midnight with light winds from the south and southwest. Partly cloudy skies will remain into the evening and early morning Sunday. Rain chances will be possible for Southeast Georgia, from sunset through midnight.

AT THE BEACH: A moderate rip current remains for our entire coast.

Sunday morning temperatures will begin in the upper 60s with partly cloudy skies and light winds. Sunday afternoon rain and some thunderstorms are possible for SE Georgia and NE Florida. Temperatures will peak into the upper 80s as winds shift from the north and gusts return to around 20 miles per hour. Rain chances remain for the afternoon into the evening.

Rain chances will remain into the work week, followed by drier air that will eliminate any chance for rain mid-week. Rain chances return going into the weekend.
