After a mixed bag of weather, a mild night is most welcomed

Sunday evening temperatures

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Several areas west and north of the St. Johns River felt the effects of heavy downpours and gusty winds throughout the afternoon. Since sunset, those storms have fizzled out, leaving behind soggy conditions under partly cloudy skies. The rain did help to lower the temperatures in our western NE Florida and northern SE Georgia counties after highs hit mid-80s. Patchy fog overnight into early morning hours could be a factor in the areas that did see the rain earlier today.

Monday: sunrise at 6:39 a.m. temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 60, some 70s near the coast under light cloud coverage. We’re expecting a stormy afternoon, similar to Sunday, but a bit more widespread. Highs in the upper 80s.

Tuesday: we’ll start to shift to the drier, hotter conditions that will last through Friday. Temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-90s!
