JACKSONVILLE, FL – Tuesday and Wednesday morning are Impact Days with weather conditions that may keep you from enjoying the outdoors.
Morning rounds of showers and thunderstorms have passed and the Tornado Watch has expired for NE Florida. The lull in rain should last through the mid-day with the potential for returning showers late this afternoon and into the evening.
A potentially severe weather event is possible early Wednesday morning south of Jacksonville. Storms will develop off the Gulf in the pre-dawn hours and track across areas south of I-10 with heavy rain and isolated tornadoes. The early morning hours through 10 am brings the best chance for severe weather on Wednesday. A cold front will shift south ushering in drier air during the afternoon and evening.
Wednesday: A cold front will stall across Northeast Florida leading to the potential for heavy rain and localized flooding. A good chance for rain can be expected in the morning hours and it especially targets areas from Jacksonville and points south as it sinks toward central Florida in the afternoon with some partial clearing by the end of the day.
Thursday may be your best bet for a dry day before showers pick up Friday continuing with showers into Saturday.
