First full day of summer brings more rain than sun

Friday tides

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With the low pressure, tropical system off our coast, rains will be moving into our area throughout the day. There’s an 80% chance of showers, some heavy downpours at times along with gusty winds. Rain totals today will be .5″-1″. More rain is expected over the next seven days with much needed accumulation of 4″-7″ by the end of June.

Temperatures will stay below 90 for most of us today, but the feel like temps will be mid-90s under mostly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead to Saturday and Sunday, more rain on the way with rising temperatures in the 90s.

Hazards: high rip current risk and choppy waters at the coast.
