Heat Advisory Returns: Heat Index over 105 degrees and potential storms

Storms arrive late this afternoon and evening

.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It will be another roaster on Wednesday, with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 90s inland. The coast won’t be much cooler, with temperatures in the low 90s and a weak sea breeze. It will feel even hotter than that, though, with heat indices climbing into the 105-112-degree range in the afternoon.

That’s why there’s a Heat Advisory in effect for everyone except along the trail ridge and Highway 301 where storms arrive earlier in the afternoon.

There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially across the eastern parts of the First Coast. These storms could move inland and bring heavy rain and gusty wind before fading out around 8 p.m.

The rest of the week will be hot and humid, with daily afternoon storms. There will be above normal highs in the mid-90s with lows staying in the mid-70s.
