Heavy rain, thunderstorms pushing through Northeast Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Flood advisory has been issued for Arlington area after heavy rain on Friday and Saturday.

Today is the last Saturday in June, and it will be hot with afternoon showers.

The heat index will top out around 105! Temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 90s with afternoon showers developing around lunchtime and lasting throughout the afternoon, tapering off late tonight. The Atlantic sea breeze will keep storm activity mostly west of I-295, near US 301. Could see heavy downpours, gusty winds and lightning associated with the storms.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-70s tonight. A heat advisory is possible on Sunday as temperatures warm up.

Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane as it approaches the Windward Islands late Sunday. Currently, the storm is moving west at 21 mph.
