Tracking the Tropics: We now have Potential Tropical Cyclone 4

Here’s what you need to know.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a nutshell, the story for us here in Florida is rain.

Governor DeSantis has declared a State of Emergency for 53 Counties in preparation for the tropical downpours headed our way.

We will see plenty of rain, but the area I see concern for is Orlando. The way the track is shifted, Orlando looks to be in line for immense amounts of rain in tropical downpours.

The tropical downpours will likely bring flash flooding across parts of Florida beginning this weekend, and lasting through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service’s Key Messages, Tropical Storm conditions are expected Saturday night within the warning area of southwest Florida from East Cape Sable to Bonita Beach. A Tropical Storm Warning has already been issued.

The Florida Keys will also need to be on high alert for tropical storm conditions to approach the area on Saturday.

If you have family not only in Florida, but in Georgia and North Carolina they could be impacted as well.

We’re continuing to monitor the system and you’ll get any updates on-air or online.
