Weekend rain and growing chances in the Tropics

Keep your eye on the Tropics

. (.)

Now:  A warm and quiet night ahead.

Evening:  Showers have ended.  Temperatures will be warm under clearing skies.

Friday:  Another hot afternoon under partly cloudy skies with afternoon storms 30-60 percent.  Morning lows in the 70s inland, 70s to low 80s along the beaches.  Afternoon highs will hit the 90s and will feel like 100-110 degrees.  Wind:  Southwest then becoming southeast at 5 - 15 mph.

Weekend:  Tropical rain expected Sunday.  Scattered showers with storms mainly after 2 pm Saturday.  Timing and model shifts will have weekend impacts.

Tropics:  Invest 97:  More questions than answers.  The chance of development has increased to 40/70 percent over the next 2/7 days.  Based on the latest models, rain is the biggest threat.  This could change over the next few days.  Keep up with the changes through the weekend and early next week.
