Showers and storms in Debby’s wake

Weekend plans? Showers and storms return

. (.)

Update @ 8:45 p.m.  Areas of rain with thunderstorms continue from northern Ware County to Nassau County.  Areas of light rain and offshore storms continue from Jacksonville Beach south.  These are following Tropical Storm Debby’s rotation and will move away overnight.

Tonight:  Rain will move offshore and wind down late.

Thursday: Hot under partly cloudy skies.  Scattered showers with storms will be possible from around noon to 8 pm.  Rain chances 20-50 percent.  Morning lows in the 70s to low 80s.  Afternoon highs in the 90s.  Wind SW 10-15 mph.

Tropics:  Monitoring Debby as she soaks the Carolinas.  The other system we were watching in the Caribbean is kaput, 0 percent chance of development.

Side note:  Look out for bugs! Cleaning some minor storm damage, I saw more spiders and bugs than I have seen in a long time.  The rising water has the critters looking for higher ground.  Ants, biting, stinging little buggers are also out there in their angry flotillas.

Sunrise: 6:50 a.m.

Sunset: 8:15 p.m.
