Super Saturday summer day with plenty of sunshine and football

Next chance of rain Sunday afternoon

Saturday Rip Current Risk-High

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A very pleasant Saturday without rain and high humidity is in the forecast today. Make sure your plans include some outside time!

Saturday started off in the upper 60s and a bit hazy for some folks in our area. We’ll see those nice morning temperatures top out in the upper 80s along the coast to low-to-mid 90s for others. Plenty of sunshine under mostly clear skies and a light breeze will round out the day. The heat index will stay below a “feels like” temperature of 95.

It’s a nice day to head to the beach; however, the Rip Current Risk is High and the water is choppy due to the passing of Hurricane Ernesto, which hit Bermuda around 5:00 a.m. as a strong Category One. Use extra caution in the water, even strong swimmers are advised to be careful. Stay near a lifeguard and enjoy your time in the sun and sand! Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, too.

If you’re heading to the game tonight, no need to pack a poncho! The weather couldn’t be better for the last home pre-season Jags game against the Buccs tonight at 7:30. A light breeze will fill Everbank Stadium making tonight one of the nicest all month.

Rain returns to the area Sunday after lunchtime with the possibility of isolated to severe thunderstorms through dinnertime. Temperatures will be warmer as moisture returns to the region from the north and west.
