JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We started Monday morning mostly dry except for a storm that moved through our very northern SE Georgia counties. Otherwise, a hot day with the heat index hovering around 100. Afternoon showers and potential thunderstorms will develop west of I-95 after lunchtime and stick around throughout the evening - possible gusty winds and heavy downpours can’t be ruled out as these storms develop along the sea breeze and mixed with the high heat.
The Flood Watch which has been in place for most of the weekend, is expected to expire by 8 pm for Glynn, Camden, Duval, and Nassau counties as the weekend rainwater starts to drain. Areas affected are along waterways and urban areas that are prone to flooding.
