JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Labor Day will start a week of wet weather as a cold front dips into our area and then stalls bringing more rain to the area; daily high temperatures will also drop below normal for this time of year staying in the mid-80s.
On Monday, showers and isolated thunderstorms will be scattered throughout the area tomorrow, mostly after 2pm. Patches of sun will help keep temperatures in the upper 80s, low 90s with a “feels like” temp in the low 100s with high humidity.
Tonight: overnight temperatures will drop into the mid 70s as remaining showers taper off, except along the coast where an offshore system might continue to bring rain to St. Johns and Duval county beaches.
The NHC continues to watch three systems, at least one of which won’t be a cause of concern for us this week:
- off the coast of Texas/Louisiana a disorganized system continues to linger in the Gulf, slow development is possible next 48 hours = 10%, 7 days = 10%
- this one we’ve been watching all week - near the Lesser Antilles and the Caribbean Sea, becoming more conducive for development over next 48 hours = 10%, 7 days = 40%
- wave moving off Africa coast, next 7 days = 30%
