Area near Duval-St. Johns border hit with 4 inches of rain in just over an hour

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As residents near the St. Johns County-Duval County border were asleep early Wednesday morning, the area was getting pounded by rain.

During a 12-hour span that started late Tuesday, just over 6 inches of rain reportedly fell in the Bartram Springs area with 4 inches falling in just over an hour.

The rain continued into late Wednesday morning, causing issues on the road and flood warnings across the area.

Nearly 3 inches of rain fell in the Nocatee area.

A public weather station near Bayard measured 2.38 inches of rain in less than an hour, according to reports.
