Flood Advisory issued for Southeast Georgia counties as more rain hits the area

Flooding possible in Southeast Georgia through Saturday morning

Thursday morning rainfall SE GA

The National Weather Service Jacksonville issued a Flood Advisory for coastal portions of Camden and Glynn counties until 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen due to a stalled band over the region. There’s a possibility for up to two more inches before it weakens.

If you see a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown. Use extra caution on the roadways.

Daily flooding is expected through Saturday due to a stalled front along with unsettled moisture in the air.

This is especially focused on areas east of Highway 84. Gusty winds along the coast of Southeast Georgia of 25-30 mph are expected with isolated thunderstorms. High surf and rip current risk at the coast are in effect.

A Flood Watch was also issued for coastal Nassau County, and parts of Duval County until 6 a.m. on Saturday.

A large system with thunderstorms is expected to affect Northeast Florida and Southeast Georiga around noon through the evening.
