JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We have a bit of a break from the heavy rains and flooding across our region, the flooding has subsided.
Early Saturday morning the National Weather Service expired the Flood Watch that has been in effect for the past few days for Glynn, Camden, Nassau, and Duval counties. However, the rain will stick around with the possibility of thunderstorms producing additional accumulation at times up to an inch.
Saturday highs will be in the upper 70s in Southeast Georgia, near Waycross; while most will see mid-80s under cloudy skies. Rain chances increase throughout the afternoon before dropping into the upper 60s and mid-70s overnight. Rain is expected overnight and into Sunday.
Tropics are active in the Gulf of Mexico near the Yutan Peninsula with a 40% chance of formation over the next two days and a 60% chance of formation over the next seven days. A second wave is making its way through the eastern Atlantic with a 30% chance of development over the next seven days.
