Scattered showers and windy weather won’t damper your Sunday too much

Slight chance of rain at game time

Sunday afternoon futurecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – You’ll want to pack the poncho and hold on to your Jags hats this afternoon.

While we’re expecting scattered showers and the slight possibility of a thunderstorm after 2 p.m., at kick-off weather will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and warm.

Expect gusty conditions throughout Sunday, especially along the coast where a high rip current risk is in effect through Monday night. The Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect, as well, through Tuesday morning for counties along the river and Atlantic coast. Minor flooding can happen during and after heavy downpours in already saturated areas. Use caution on flooded streets and near pooling roadways.

Highs Sunday in the mid-upper 80s, feeling like 90s. It will feel humid under mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances 50% after 2 p.m. will taper to 30% after sunset before 8 p.m.

Rainfall totals are well above normal for the middle of September. Officially at JIA, we’ve seen 11.40″, while some areas around the region are reported 15-20+”.
