Shorter and drier days ahead, Fall starts Sunday

Warmer and drier end to the week

. (.)

Cloudy skies with showers and storms heading our way! Coastal and River flooding continues through Friday. Keep an eye on that spot in the Caribbean.

Now: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms, near and along I-10 heading east at 10-15 mph. We will be tracking showers and storms through around 8 p.m. Storms will fade after sunset with showers lingering late.

Tonight: A few showers possible with patchy fog.

Thursday: Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories through 5 am Friday. Morning lows in the 60s to low 70s. Afternoon highs in the 80s to low 90s. Rain chances, 10-20% early, then clearing. Wind: NW/NE 5-15 mph. Patchy fog late.

Tropics: Keep an eye on that spot in the Caribbean. As the tropics become more active next week, a tropical system could form in the Gulf of Mexico. Use this weekend to restock supply kits and review family plans.

Looking ahead: A warmer end to the week, then cooler and breezy this weekend. Open Window Weather early in the day and the first day of Fall is on Sunday.

Sunrise: 7:14 a.m.

Sunset: 7:28 p.m.
