Cloudy with scattered showers through the evening and overnight along our coastal zones.  Wednesday will see increasing wind and bands of rain.  Tropical Storm force wind expected after sunset Wednesday.  The worst impact will from around 12 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday.

Tonight:  Cloudy, breezy with scattered shower along our coastal counties.

Wednesday - Thursday:  Conditions will deteriorate after sunset Wednesday.  The worst of our Tropical Impacts will be 12 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday.  Last minute errands or property protection should be finished early Wednesday.  Bands of rain will start Wednesday afternoon and increase as the sun sets.  Tropical Storm and Hurricane impacts expected Thursday.

Storm Surge:  Increasing, damaging wind and wind gusts late Wednesday, Thursday.  Flooding will be possible with the surge and due to the River running at higher than average tides.  Flooding is likely at times of high tide.  People living near and along the River should monitor tides and river levels. Storm surge inundation of up to 3 to 5 feet is expected along the northeast Florida and southeast Georgia Atlantic coasts and near 2 to 4 feet in the St Johns River basin.

Wind:  Overall, sustained tropical storm force winds are forecast for most of northeast Florida and the southeast Georgia coast, with hurricane force gusts possible along the coast and St. Johns river basin.  Tropical Storms force wind gusts are expected late Wednesday.  Tropical Storm and Hurricane conditions will move in late Wednesday with the biggest impact overnight through midday Thursday.  Estimated wind:  39-74 mph, Hurricane gusts possible along our southern counties, 75-91 mph.

Rainfall:  Southeast Georgia:  0.50 - 2.00 inches inland with 1.0 - 3.0 inches possible for coastal counties.  Rainfall totals of 5 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts are possible mainly in Putnam, Flagler, and St Johns counties.  The rest of northeast Florida will see rainfall totals generally 2 to 6 inches, with locally higher amounts as well.  With already saturated grounds, flash flooding will be possible mainly across northeast Florida and the southeast Georgia coast beginning Tuesday night.

Tornadoes:  The tornado threat across most of our area is less than 2 percent.  Alachua, Putnam and Flagler county may be under a Tornado Watch Thursday.  Isolated tornadoes could develop in the outer rainbands from Wednesday night over portions of northeast Florida, including Putnam, Flagler, and St. Johns counties.
