Jacksonville’s Monday Mix: spotty showers, warmth, and hurricane potential

A boost in tropical moisture this week

Showers target southern areas this evening.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Today we will have partly cloudy skies as temperatures climb into the low 80s, offering a warm afternoon.

As evening approaches, a few showers may return, primarily south of Jacksonville.

The chance of rain increases mid-week as tropical moisture surges northward. This moisture is associated with Tropical Depression 18 that could become Hurricane Rafael, which may form by the end of the week south of Cuba. While Rafael is not expected to directly impact Florida, it will contribute to increased rain chances by mid week.

End of week GFS vs EURO positioning of Potential Tropical Cyclone 18 (Rafael).
