The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms in the Central and Western Caribbean Sea.
This system is slowly moving westward and expected to gradually develop, possibly into a tropical depression later this week or into the weekend.
There’s a 20 to 60% chance of formation over the next 2 to 7 days.
Models show development over the next 10 days into a tropical cyclone, but it’s too soon to say when or where this storm could track.

The next named storm in the 2024 hurricane season will be Sara.
Hurricane season ends Nov. 30.
