Chilliest night since last spring

A test of winter with lows in the upper 30s

.

Jacksonville is in for a chilly night, with temperatures plummeting to the upper 30s inland – the coldest we’ve felt since March! Coastal areas will fare slightly better, dipping into the lower 40s. Clear skies and a gentle 5 mph breeze will add an extra nip to the air, making it feel like freezing by sunrise. While a widespread frost isn’t expected, a light dusting is possible in inland areas west of Highway 301.

Saturday morning will be brisk, but the day itself will be a repeat of today’s pleasant conditions. Another chilly night follows, with lows in the low 40s. Milder temperatures return Sunday, leading into a dry and comfortable week ahead. Highs will gradually climb back above normal, reaching the upper 70s just in time for Thanksgiving feasts. However, a strong front arriving the day after Thanksgiving will send temperatures tumbling back into the 60s next weekend. So, enjoy the warmth while it lasts!
