Light showers and sprinkles continue to move across the area as a potent cold front sneaks in overnight. Temperatures will tumble as the skies clear Friday night. Light showers will be possible through around 8 p.m.
A Freeze Warning and a Frost Advisory have been issued for northeast Florida and southeast Georgia as we prepare for some of our coldest temperatures yet.
The Advisory and Warning will start at 3 a.m. and continue through 9 a.m. Saturday. Overnight lows may prompt another round of warnings and advisories for Sunday and into early next week.
The Freeze Warning is for northern Ware County in southeast Georgia. The Frost Advisory covers northeast Florida and southeast Georgia, mainly west of I-95 and inland counties near and along I-10.
Tonight: Showers end, skies clear and temperatures tumble. Inland areas will need to protect sensitive and tropical plants from frost.
Weekend: Saturday will be cold and breezy, and Sunday will be a little warmer and less windy. There is a Frost Advisory and Freeze Warning through 9 a.m. Morning lows will be in the 30s for most inland areas and the 40s along the beaches. Afternoon highs will be in the 50s to low 60s on Saturday and the 60s on Sunday.
Reinforcing cold air moves in over the weekend with well below seasonal temperatures through midweek.
