Showers are winding down for our southern counties as temperatures continue to fall.
A Freeze Warning and a Frost Advisory have been issued for northeast Florida and southeast Georgia as we get ready for some our coldest temperatures yet. The Advisory and Warning will start at 3 a.m. and continue through 9 a.m. Saturday. Overnight lows may prompt another round of warnings and advisories for Sunday and into early next week.
Tonight: Showers end, skies clear and temperatures tumble. Inland areas will need to protect sensitive and tropical plants from frost.
Weekend: Cold and breezy Saturday and then a little warmer and not as windy Sunday. Frost Advisory and Freeze Warning through 9 a.m. Morning lows in the 30s for most inland areas, 40s along the beaches. Afternoon highs in the 50s to low 60s Saturday, 60s on Sunday.
Reinforcing cold air moves in over the weekend with well below seasonal temperatures through midweek.
Record lows for Saturday and Sunday: Saturday: 26 in 1959. Sunday: 28 in 1979.
