First day of winter will have all the feels including a possible visit from Jack Frost

Saturday Forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Winter returns just in time for, well... winter. Saturday is the first day of Winter and the shortest day of the year. With only approximately 10 hours of sunshine, temperatures won’t warm up much. Expect at least a 20 degree difference in our highs from Friday afternoon compared to Saturday’s forecast.

An inland frost is possible Saturday morning as temperatures dip back into the mid-to-low 30s in Southeast Georgia. A brisk wind will inhibit widespread frost. Winds will die down throughout Saturday as a Freeze Watch will go into effect Saturday evening into Sunday morning as temperatures continue to sink even more.

We return to normal December temperatures by Tuesday with rain chances increasing mid-week and a warm, not a white, Christmas and Hanukkah on the horizon.
