JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It was cold on the first morning of 2025, but things are about to get much colder starting Wednesday night.
According to the National Weather Service, frost is possible for inland areas of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia with temperatures dipping into the mid-30s Thursday morning. It will be in the low 40s along the coast with highs in the lower 60s and upper 50s.

Light freezes are possible inland from Friday through the weekend as temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s on Sunday morning.
Everyone is advised to consider preparations to protect plants, pets, pipes, and people and practice space heater safety.
